Responsibilities
- Work closely with business, consulting and digital transformation stakeholders, to elicit requirements, and understand business processes of key underwriting customers
- Use process mapping tools, knowledge of database structures, and prior experience in the P/C general and specialty insurance sector to design innovative solutions to implement a tailored digital underwriting solution
- Apply acquired consulting / software vendor experience to run user workshops, advise customers and generate well articulated functional requirement documentation
- Work closely with developers and testers to ensure optimal technical specifications are derived, which are testable and scalable
- Work with Product Owner to identify gaps and prioritise issues for constant improvement, and product road map
- Bring a strong generalist business analysis / implementation skills set (SDLC-led), including testing and configuration skills, and be comfortable playing a hands-on specialist role
- Be driven by a client-first, collegial team philosophy, in meeting delivery and budget goals
Qualifications and Expertise sought
NB This is a flat structured, small team of specialists, which is best suited to candidate seeking a similar, entrepreneurial environment
Critical domain experience required: Well-founded understanding of the business processes underlying insurance risk acquiring and commercial management, across either commercial or specialty markets (across a diversity of classes) and expertise in implementation insurance policy or program admin systems
- Bachelors or post graduate level degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics or a related STEM subject
- Circa 6 years software vendor or consulting sector experience in implementation complex SaaS solutions, optimally with 3+ years within the insurance sector
- Strong blend of technical and business analysis skills, with an enjoyment of engagement through all phases of the implementation lifecycle
- Highly flexible and able to adapt to typical challenges associated with a small, highly challenging delivery environment
- Incentivised to meet high performance, high reward metrics
- Excellent communicator – collaborative and team-drive.
In addition, the role calls for:
- a well skilled business (systems) analyst, who enjoys the full spectrum of working with and influencing customers
- hands-on through the software development lifecycle (AGILE)
- able to elicit and define well clear, unambiguous functional specifications
- understanding the technical inferences that will be impacted upon at database, API and integration levels
- willing to play a role in system configuration
- totally comfortable defining and running deployment testing
- and with the ability to work closely with the scrum team to advise, and influence the outcome, using SAFE, Kanban or similar methodologies
- must be experienced in proprietary or 3rd party policy administration and programme administration software implementations, within the global insurance sector
