Created at the end of 2021 following the success of their sister company in the US and heavily backed by their Global Reinsurer parent. 

Their model is unique, being rapidly adopted and growing impressively with over 20 Underwriter companies (Series) onboarded in the US and UK in just over a year.

Role and Responsibilities

The Client Relationship Director is responsible for the onboarding, development and relationship management of new and existing Underwriters (Series) within the portfolio. Ideal candidates are Client focused, driven, and committed to building growth and value for shareholders.

Specific responsibilities include:

  • Support the CGO and COO in the management of the appointment of prospective Underwiter businesses
  • Client relationship development. operational growth, support and management
  • Effective oversight of all pre and post live requirements and actions, acting as a point of escalation if required.
  • Collaborate with other leaders to drive best practice and efficiency for optimum client outcomes
  • Support Series with Product identification and development opportunities
  • Service model management and enhancement
  • Oversight of partnerships/vendors that provide services to Series under the Mission platform
  • Collaborate to deliver Series specific underwriting and financial performance analytics

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • 10+ years of Senior Change or Underwriter Operations roles within the London Market. 
  • Track record of managing multiple complex relationships.
  • 10+ years of client relationship experience internal or external
  • 5+ years of P&L management
  • Strategic thinking and entrepreneurial mindset essential
  • Experience working on a pan-European basis preferred
  • University degree preferred

A great opportunity for a Senior Data Scientist to work for one of the leading UK/Global insurers on their Data Science Team. With a remit across group level and its subsidiaries the team works to deliver best in class data solutions by working in tandem with other specialist functions including Pricing; Exposure; Reserving; Underwriting; and Claims. The team is split across two core disciplines: Engineering and Advanced Analytics.

Engineering are tasked with collecting, validating and delivering data. The discipline is organised across architecture, infrastructure and data, and stack.

Advanced Analytics are tasked with using data analysis methodologies including predictive modelling, machine learning algorithms, process automation and other methods to impact processes. The discipline is organised across science and modelling, and journalism.

In this instance we are recruiting into science and modelling who create and deploy algorithmic models (be it ML or AI) to extract knowledge from data; ensure development consistency and output towards rate assessment and monitoring; and develop other forms of computational analysis (process mining, sentiment analysis etc) to quantify performance.

Specifically for Senior Data Scientist who solves business problems using ML / AI. You’ll know how use software and modelling skills to determine what data and model best fits a project; and have a firm grasp of both probability and statistics.

A great opportunity for an experienced Project Manager with Insurance Software experience to lead a team on all aspects of projects with responsibility for the deliverables required at each stage of the project life cycle. (e.g. Customer Proposals, GAP analysis, Requirements Definition, and Internal and External Design, Development & Deployment of the solution, Risk/Issue management & Financial Controls on the project).

'Underwriter' Product is delivered through a centralised platform. ‘Underwriting’ systemises an underwriter’s knowledge and delivers analytics-driven insights throughout the decision-making process.

Powered by an ecosystem of data providers that supports data led decisions, ‘Underwriting’ proactively delivers new business insights and risk-specific knowledge, facilitates the creation of new products, and enables underwriters to understand risk at new levels of granularity.

Key Accountabilities

  • Ownership of an allocated project with full responsibility for delivering to the parameters outlined in the PID / SOW
  • Responsible for controlled escalations to senior management both internally and externally when appropriate
  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects effectively
  • Responsible for planning and resourcing the project including building and leading a team of resources with the right capabilities to meet the project deliverables
  • To lead day-to-day operations including delivering to SLAs and end-to-end quality targets
  • Providing guidance and assistance to team members according to established policy and procedures in meeting objectives.

Experience required

  • Responsible for defining the project P&L including joint formal sign off
  • Experienced PM with a track record of delivering projects
  • Insurance Market / Insurance Software implementation experience
  • Experience of client relationship management
  • Experience of P&L generation and management
  • Experience of leading and delivering complex, high value projects within time, financial and qualitative parameters
  • Proven ability to manage multiple concurrent projects

As Business Analyst you will provide a good understanding of a customer’s business processes and technology architecture, and to ensure that when a product or service is delivered, there is an optimal fit of functionality to a customers’ current needs & future plans.

Key Accountabilities

  • Capturing & understanding customers’ business needs, and translating them into workable solutions
  • Producing business and functional requirements
  • Providing consultancy to the customer in implementing our package software
  • Ensuring products and services are delivered to customers in a professional manner and to a high quality
  • Ensuring delivered software is fit for purpose, by undertaking peer review and testing of software before release
  • Ensure that a good relationship is nurtured with the customer, with an appreciation of the commercial aspects of the project & an eye for identifying new revenue opportunities
  • Support training & knowledge transfer to the customer

Experience/Qualifications Required to Perform the Role

  • Good understanding of commercial insurance obtained through working for a supplier of insurance systems or at an end user site
  • Good understanding of the business processes that cover Underwriting, Claims, Broking, Reinsurance & Financial Accounting
  • Experience of engaging with business users one to one and in workshops to define business and functional requirements
  • Experience of defining revised processes for commercial insurance customers
  • Experience of working with technical delivery teams to meet functional requirements
  • Good understanding of the implementation of enterprise wide software package solutions
  • Good understanding of all areas of the software development lifecycle

Package details:

  • Up to £90,000 base salary
  • 10% bonus
