The opportunity

US Private Equity- backed insurtech, building an ambitious Data Analytics offering to meet the needs of globally-operating Insurance underwriters . Own projects, manage data sets and provide key insights to determine and predict business performance, and influence underwriting decisions. Responsibilities
- Collaborate with Underwriters, Business Analysts and management to define needs and build data solutions to ensure a competitive advantage
- Collect and analyse datasets
- Leverage prior experience in the use of SQL, R, Python and data visualization tools
- Bring your understanding of the role of (insurance) risk underwriting, and develop data models to enhance the value of risk rating, pricing and qualitative input
- Develop an understanding of the metrics and insights that are pivotal to insurance risk evaluation, pricing and underwriting – across commercial and specialty insurance
- Prepare reports and presentations to communicate insights and recommendations to stakeholders

- This is a JUNIOR role – offering rapid growth and rewards based on ability, attitude and performance. Circa 1-2 years postgraduate experience required.
- Ideally, you will have graduated with a Bachelors degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science or a similar field with strong outcome (2:1 or above)
- Have acquired some underwriting-related experience – course work, CII certification, work experience, internship
- Be curious about the competitive advantage data analytics and visualisation brings to the competitive world of risk rating, pricing and placement
- Excellent English communication skills – to define data requirements, unpack analysis outcomes and present on outcomes for actioning
- Flexible in working on a hybrid basis, with minimum 2 days in office / week (London)
- Must have established right to work in the UK
