Account Director – InsuTech, Insurance Services – up to £260,000 OTE

Account Director

A large and successful global InsurTech provider are seeking an Account Director to join their busy Sales team. As Account Director, you will be responsible for growing a portfolio of key accounts across the UK. This role can be carried out remotely but there will be occasional travel to the office as required.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Achieving annual quotas for all products, particularly focused on a small number of our largest P&C clients in the UK. Being responsible for generating incremental sales within this account base
  • Undertaking and be accountable for necessary lead generation activities to drive penetration of target organisations. Drawing on resources from business development, marketing and partners as needed to achieve this goal
  • Accurately assessing and qualifying opportunities to ensure sales effort and resource is expended effectively
  • The development and execution of individual account plans which detail the opportunity and sales strategy for increased wallet share spend
  • Driving the sales process through each stage of the sales cycle including Qualification, Develop, Solution and Prove through to Close
  • Undertaking astute management of pre-sales resources to develop compelling business cases to justify investment in our product solutions
  • Engaging and working confidently with Regional Sales Director, Senior Business management and ‘C’ level executives, to progress sales opportunities
  • Managing key stakeholders within allocated clients through regular review meetings/contact
  • Producing accurate monthly forecasts of pending business to enable sales management to consolidate accurate forecasts
  • Acting as a professional ambassador for the business, communicating company ethos to prospects and customers
  • Attending seminars, exhibitions and trade shows as required
  • Ensuring the processing of effective business in accordance with the company’s Compensation Plan
  • Developing internal relationships to ensure that effective internal communication is achieved and maintained

 

Key skills & requirements for the role are

  • Extensive sales and account management experience within the Insurance market. Ideally within the P&C segment
  • Proven track record of closing high value deals (£1M+) as well as growing sustainable revenues within client base
  • Practical experience of dealing at ‘C’ level (presentations to and relationships with)
  • Must have general business understanding of Insurance, including the technology and platforms available
  • Knowledge of Managed Services and Application Outsourcing and experience of selling these types of solutions would be an advantage
  • Ability to lead and guide a pre-sales team to successful business wins
  • Understands a consultative selling approach, able to work with colleagues within the client’s buyer network and be able to craft solutions that will provide business benefits
  • Understanding of how projects are planned and executed
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and able to establish positive relationships with clients and colleagues
  • Self-starter, highly motivated and driven to succeed
  • Ability to work as a team leader (for scope and approach) as well as a team member (excellent influencing and communication skills and able to display tact and diplomacy in sensitive situations
